Three Generations of Medicine

Our family has been involved in hair restoration for three generations and over six decades. This is our specialty, and because of that, we have a unique experience in addressing these issues not just from a professional treatment-based approach but also from a personal and in-depth understanding of the psychosocial impact it has on their quality of life. We want the patient to understand that we address their concerns on a daily basis and will deliver them a personalized treatment plan.

Meet Joseph Greco, Sr.

Joseph F. Greco, Sr., was the town doctor in the tiny coal mining community in Northeastern Pennsylvania. He specialized in every aspect of medicine, from pediatrics to geriatrics and office-based surgery to OB/GYN. In addition, he was one of the first doctors in the U.S. to perform hair transplant surgery.

Dr. Joseph F. Greco III on his grandfather:

“My brothers and myself are included in the approximately 2,800 babies he delivered during my grandfather’s career. I fondly remember sneaking into his office (which was attached to his home) to watch him work and also tagging along with him on house calls because I knew his patients always had some homemade goodies waiting for him. He had a very interesting history and was a pioneer in hair transplantation. My dad had the opportunity to work with him many years ago, and that experience stands among his greatest memories. It inspired him to pursue a career in hair restoration, which has led to his success today. The opportunity to work with my own father now is something I cannot pass up. Not only do I want to create those same memories working with my dad, but also want to give my three children the opportunity to grow up with him as well.”

Meet Dr. Joseph Greco, Jr.

Dr. Joseph Greco, Jr. has been in practice in Sarasota since 1989. He has been practicing for over four decades as a physician assistant in orthopedic surgery, general vascular surgery, and hair restoration surgery, with the last two decades in regenerative medicine.

Internationally recognized as an innovator in hair restoration, Dr. Greco is a widely published lecturer and teacher, and he is also highly regarded for his natural biologic applications. He pioneered the use of growth factor technology in all phases of hair transplant surgery and non-surgical treatments of hair loss diseases in male and female pattern hair loss.

Joseph F. Greco III, MD, is the Medical Director of Greco Hair Restoration and third generation Greco performing hair restoration, following his father and grandfather Joseph F. Greco, MD, since 1958. Dr. Greco is fulfilling a lifelong dream to work alongside his father and bring his vast experience in dermatologic surgery and hair restoration to an already cutting-edge, three-generation family tradition in hair restoration.
